Project 50, 30 of 50. Fifty faces, with my 50mm lens, in 50 days.
For those of you paying close attention, this is becoming a “Project 50-ish”. I’ve not been as good as I wanted to be with getting a photo posted every day. I will say that I’m still very, very much at work on this project every single day. Between the day job, the family, getting time to get something I really like, etc., it is not as easy as I thought it would be to get a daily posting up. I’m close, but I’ve missed a few days. I have a huge new respect for those doing a 365 project. (I am also doing one of those but with my iPhone which does not have the same pressure because you can shoot, process, and post all with something in your pocket. See those photos here.)
This is Abby. Abby just got her braces off, and I was lucky to take this picture just a little while ago and did not get around to doing any processing on it yet. I’m not perfectly happy with the shot, but I’m starting to feel pretty good about my increase in Photoshop/Lightroom knowledge when it comes to working with faces. This one may not show it, but this project has been very good for my growing future ninja like skills.
Abby is the daughter of one of my wife’s best friends. Great family, and we are very lucky to have the chance to get to know them. Each time we have moved (which has been a lot in the last decade) it takes my wife 18 – months almost like clock work – to make really, really good friends. The kind that will get together and cry for no good reason. As a guy I don’t understand that, but when that get together happens, I know we are safe and she likes where we are at. Abby’s mom is one of those friends.
