Marcus

Project 50, 17 of 50. Fifty faces, with my 50mm lens, in 50 days.

This is Marcus. I saw Marcus chewing on this big wad of candy and asked if I could take his photo. He did what all kids do and showed me what was in his mouth. Cute kid with all the hair and a mouth full of candy.

For the picture itself I added a bit of texture (still experimenting there), toned it a bit warmer, and cropped it square. The right side of the background was a bit distracting, and something about the shape of his head just worked in the square format for me. I’m not happy with the focus on this one. I had the aperture set wide open and had to shot quick to get the shot. The auto focus set on his nose, and lost part of his face and eyes. Sometimes I miss manual focus. I wish I would have taken more time, but then I might have lost the moment and Marcus as well.
