Project 50, 31 of 50. Fifty faces, with my 50mm lens, in 50ish days.
You’ve met Tree before, he is my son. Tree is not always very happy to model for me, you can see that in his face in this picture. But I feel it is my job to get pictures of him (and my other kids as well) not only for myself, but just simply for family memories. I spent a few years not taking photos like I should have or like I did in the years prior. I really lost my creative drive and focused on my “day job” for a while. The problem with that in the long run really is the lack of family photos we have during that period. It all comes down to what is important, and aren’t your family memories more important then art? I for one think so.
So, Tree will just have to be unhappy with me taking photos of him for a few more years. This is the year that Tree begins high school. He is very intelligent, is a student government leader, and is running on the cross country track team. Still, that first few weeks can be both exciting and terrifying. I think he will do fine.
