2010.2.9 (Disney Concert Hall)

Today the company I work for gave instruments to public schools to support the arts. We do this quite a lot over the last few decades. Today we gave away $500,000 worth of musical instruments to support art in the public schools. We did this in 4 cities at the same time with a satellite feed to each city. The kids do not know they are getting the instruments, they just think they are on a feed trip to Disney Hall to see some music. So they are all very surprised when the time comes. It is always great fun and touching to do it. Last year I was interviewed on the local news about it, this year I kept a lower profile (although I did need to be on stage handing instruments out. This was a much bigger event this year then in the past. We had Joan Cusack, Dominic Monaghan (Charlie on Lost and Merry from Lord of the Rings), Jamie Foxx, Kieth Lockhart and others involved. Now you can see why I had nothing to do with news cameras today. I was just one of the suits today.

After the event I decide to take a walk around Disney Hall and take some photos. Normally I would take a nice wide angle lens to a building like this, but I decided to try something new. I took my 85mm. I ended up taking some unexpected photos with this lens. I’m sure I will share them with you soon. This one just caught my eye as the plane flew over head. As you can see, it is another rainy day here. We are not used to this weather. Very strange for us.
