Tonight, I’m using my iPhone for my camera again. I really love using this camera. Technically, it sucks. There is no other way to say it. Apple should be shamed that it put a camera this bad into a phone that is this expensive. BUT . . . that does not mean it can’t take good pictures. Many people have said it over the years and I echo the idea in my own way. A better camera can “help” you take a better picture, but 90% of what shows up in the final picture is you and your vision, not the equipment. You can take great pictures with any camera, it is all about what you see, what your trying to say, how you compose, and how you use the equipment you have. Know it’s limits and use them to you advatage. Buying a great trumpet does not make you a great musician, but it may help you better express your own music. It is about you and how you use that equipment.
Last night my wife and I went to see Pat Metheny. I can’t tell you how much of a Pat Metheny fan I am with out looking like some sort of freak. But, I get more inspiration from Pat then from any other source. If you want to know more about my and my relationship to his music you will have to ask me (or my wife), I’m not going to type it here. Suffice to say, it was a fantastic evening at the Disney Hall in downtown LA. Amazing.
