This is a pretty simple picture today. I had to spend an hour or so at the Thousand Oaks High School waiting for the start of a musical that my daughter was in yesterday so I ended up wandering around taking some pictures. I played with this image for a while in Photoshop and came up with something I liked. I bunch of curves, a bit of texture, destaturate it, a bit of cloning, some vignetting and I was finally done. Then just for fun I put the picture though Silver Efex Pro and the first thing I saw was this. I don’t use that software much, but the simplicity of this image kind of got me. 30 seconds and I had this. Sometimes the easiest, simplest solution works. I think the center of the flower is a bit too sharp, but I decided to do anything with it just to make a point. I think I have a tendency to over work things sometimes. Simple works.

Mindy - The original is pretty but the edited shot is stunning! I actually like the sharpness of the center because it balances so nicely with the softness of the rest of the shot. Just beautiful! ReplyCancel
