St. Teresa of Avila at Bodega, California
I drive through Bodega a few times on year on my way to the Northern California coast. I never really put together the fact that Ansel Adams’ picture of the Church and Road was taken there. Last time I went through I decided to take a 1/2 mile detour and see the church. I wasn’t there at a great time of day for a photograph, and I wasn’t really feeling inspired so I plan on going back to produce a much better image. But today I was just fooling around with this shot and I sort of like the feeling that it invoked. It could have been that I was also watching a documentary of a photographer who takes pictures of sacred places at the same time, but something about the spiritual aspect of the building struck me while I was fooling around with it. Anyway, here it is.
